For our final assignment we were instructed to make a promotional piece for a Music Festival. The details were completely up to us to interpret.

PROCESS

This was the first iteration of the poster. I wanted to make an illustrative artwork that featured the musicians that would be present at the festival. I also wanted to challenge myself and mix artists from different genres. The artists i chose were Corpse Husband, Doja Cat, and Elton John.

However, i quickly gave up on this version as the poses were too static and boring.

I went back to redesign the composition in order to make it more interesting

After sketching and experimenting for quite a while, this is the layout i liked best so, so i started refining it.

I used this Gorillaz poster as my primary reference as I really liked the limited colour palette used here
